A must read for potential Doberman owners May 18, 2009 Nita K. Vandemark (Pinon, AZ) The authors give a very clear and colorful depiction of Mr. Dobermann and his first tries at this breed. Reading of the breed throughout the years explains why the German Dobermann & the American Doberman are so different in temperament. Please, anyone wanting a doberman, or any other breed at that, please read up on the type of dog you have in mind. This is a great book for Doberman owners and potential owners.
Very dry and in depth, but informative. May 13, 2009 emt_jp (Pocahontas, AR USA) This would be a great reference if you were to have to do a report on the breed. It is very in depth and informative. It was a little too dry for just casual reading. All and all, a great book.
The Doberman Pinscher September 5, 2008 Diane 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a dog trainer, behaviorist and Dobe owner (2 Dobes) I always recommend this book to pet parents interested in the breed or people who are already in love with the breed. It is to the point, offers appropriate, beware of what you wish for, warnings about owning this breed. The book also offers information from nutrition to exercise specific to the Doberman and is written by long time Dobe owners and breeders. I have purchased the book for clients as it makes a great gift.
Excellent content! April 8, 2008 Brian G. Doyle (NJ) Excellent content but the photos are not the best. Most photos are in black and white. The information though is top notch. Would recommend this book highly for all!!!!!
Great overview of breed February 7, 2008 Bruce T. Dannan (Syracuse, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent book that gives a mostly objective overview of an amazing breed. Not the right book if your looking for a detailed training guide but can be helpful for someone researching their next pet.
